About the Opportunity

Wurli-Wurlinjang Health Service is hiring full-time Registered Nurses (Level 2–3) to join its growing clinical teams in Katherine, NT.

Reporting to the Clinic / Program Coordinator, you’ll be based primarily at one of Wurli’s four clinics and provide high-quality nursing services in a primary health care setting. This is a generalist role — ideal for those seeking clinical breadth, community connection, and the freedom to grow.

More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Delivering direct nursing care and case management in a culturally appropriate manner
  • Conducting assessments, diagnosis, and treatment in line with CARPA protocols
  • Managing clinical records, care plans, and follow-ups via Communicare
  • Supporting doctors and allied health teams with coordinated care
  • Participating in outreach and voluntary after-hours programs
  • Maintaining safe clinical environments and upholding best practices
  • Assisting with emergencies and participating in CQI, peer review, and team learning
  • Occasionally supporting across other clinics during staff shortages

About You

To be eligible, you must hold a Bachelor of Nursing and current AHPRA registration (unconditional) as a Registered Nurse. 2 years of clinical experience is preferred. You’ll also need:

  • Valid Working With Children Clearance (Ochre Card)
  • National Police Check
  • Driver’s Licence
  • Legal right to work in Australia (working holiday visas not accepted)

Candidates with the following will be highly regarded:

  • Experience working in Aboriginal or regional health settings
  • Familiarity with CARPA protocols
  • Knowledge of Communicare or equivalent systems
  • Interest in chronic disease care, health promotion or outreach

Standard hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (with a 1-hour lunch break!). You’ll thrive in a culturally diverse, team-based environment that prioritises both patient outcomes and staff wellbeing.

About the Benefits

Generous salary and benefits tailored to experience:

  • $94,000+ base salary (Level 2 RNs with <5 years’ experience)
  • $109,000+ base salary (Level 3 RNs with 5+ years’ experience)

(Salaries are based on the current Enterprise Agreement. A new agreement is pending, and salary rates will increase once it comes into effect.)

  • Salary packaging options to increase take-home pay
  • Relocation support up to $2,000, with additional support of up to $7,000 from NTPHN
  • Accommodation assistance, including access to furnished units (2–3 bedroom, subsidised for 12 weeks)
  • 6 weeks annual leave + 15 days personal leave
  • 10 days of study leave after 1 year of service
  • No on-call, weekend or public holiday work
  • Optional after-hours clinics (volunteer basis) for additional income
